About the Kids
One of our main focuses is on orphans and needy kids in various countries. We are concerned about poverty-stricken children and want to ensure that they have enough food and clean water, and are provided with the opportunity for education and to hear about the love of Jesus Christ.
One such group of kids that we are helping is 40 blind children who go to a primary school in Kenya. They live at the school and need basic items like food, school supplies, soap, and other essentials. They also need more Braille machines ($500 each) and more Braille books, which cost 10 times more than normal books.
In Ethiopia, our Field Director, Melaku Abebe, has also asked us to set up a feeding station for an elementary school near him, where he has seen kids collapse due to a lack of nutrition. We have also been asked to consider helping orphans and needy kids in Liberia. We will share more on this as the Lord leads.
As you can see, we do not lack for opportunities to reach out with a loving hand to children who don’t have the basics that we so readily enjoy in our lives. However, we can’t do this important work alone. The leaders overseeing this important work require much wisdom. Our vision for these children is to win them to Christ at a young age so that they can become future evangelists in the region. Demonstrating Jesus Christ’s message carries far more impact than mere words, and we hope to inspire the young people to emulate Him. We teach them that helping others is a Thank You to Jesus as a result of salvation, not as a way to achieve salvation.
